rocketboom.com Click on the link above for more info on today’s episode! Rocketboom Tech’s Ellie Rountree learns about Intel’s recently released and newest version of the Classmate PC, which is a netbook specifically designed with children in mind. It runs with the Intel Atom processor, has a 10.1′ LCD clam shell monitor, and also includes a touch screen. It’d be great as a graduation gift for children so they can keep brushing up on their learning skills this summer! just a pointer… dont take it the wrong way… but you nod too much and with too much enthusiasm… it makes it seem fake.
i find a repeated gesture like that when you’re interviewing or doing any sort of public speaking just becomes a big distraction… its a bad body language habit..
other than that great stuff once again
Wish I had that in elementary school
For fucks sake, it uses Internet Explorer..
@Semtexxxxx Kids will learn nothing. NOTHING!!!
Programming lego and taking pictures of dolphins… wow this is some game-changer.
Give laptops to a-level students- we take notes!
What happened to the 10-30 dollar netbook that was being developed by india? Or the One Laptop Per Child XO-1 $100 lap top?
@EmberflyLayouts These netbooks have built-in cameras and microphones, be prepared for a coming wave of amateur child pornography produced by children popping up all across the web.
Wow! rocketboom talking bout a pc. surely, you must’ve had problems trying to understand this incredibly hard to use OS. And maybe some bluescreens. After all, Steve Jobs didnt make AND its not
overpriced: how do you know it’s safe to use?
@murdockqotsa Yes, it’s fake. There’s no such thing as computers.
computers AND children!
I envision little 8 year olds addicted to WoW in the next 10 years
@Prestonboy13
Yeah, cause there were no WoW-playing little kids 5 years ago?
@flobber238 word
oh ellie your my dream girl! thats cus ive dated hotter.. i just have a thing for you;)…
dam it where was my laptop for programming lego when i was that age >:(
the guyz head @ 3:50 xD
This video leaves the impression of being an a rather blatant ad. Not sure if that was the intent or not. I know intel supports rocketboom tech.
so HOT!
omg the weather is killing me xD
Same as the Portuguese “Magalhães” PC.
i don’t think it’s good to encourage too much computer use in schools. i think they’re going to get too dependent on typing things, handwriting is dying. i would have loved to have one in junior school but i’m glad we didn’t! i’m only 17 but i don’t think computers should be so heavily integrated in schools.
@Razear I’ve tested it, it runs crysis, farcry 2, uncharted 2 and gears of war at the same time and stil download porn with like 9000 GB per sec… AWESOME machine!
i’m 26, and i had computers in school since 3rd grade. i expect kids to be having their own laptops in school by now instead of carrying so much spine breaking paper. i’m kind of surprised that’s not the case. kids carry around pointless cellphones and ipods to school, when a laptop would be actually educational.
cool
intel intel intel agin why?
@elspethjane They love it, no more huge books to lug around. CBS covered it here cbsnewsdotcom/video/watch/?id=870889n
